Daily Gas is not what I intended it to be. It's what it was MEANT to be.
Originally, I purchased this domain during the rapid rise of Fuel Prices spreading across this Country, with the intention of keeping track of where the lowest prices were in towns and cities across the US.
But a funny thing happened on the way to the Pump.
I began to realize that the price at the pump was NOT an effect of supply and demand, or a war in Kenya or a Hurricane on our South Easter coast... It was about Spin. It was a bunch of Hot Air being spewed by market makers and politicians to profit (money or power) at the expense of the hard working people of this Country.
As I tapped into this massive reserve of "natural gas" being vented from Washington and New York, the Daily Gas website made a massive transformation into what it is today... a Daily Conservative Observation of the Daily World of Punditry and Bloviation.
While I know that not everyone will agree, I hope that you at least take the time to tolerate and consider the observations and comments of a common American with common sense.
If you need to know more about what makes me tick, to understand my perspective, please read my post "Why I believe what I believe" elsewhere on this Blog.
Finally, if you have some constructive comments, honest dissent or alternative points of view, I would love to hear from you in the comments section on the site or on each individual blog post. But keep them sane and respectful.
Enjoy and please continue to visit the Daily Gas website at www.DailyGas.com
I believe that Obama's personal desire for power and control trump what is ultimately best for this Country and I believe he lacks the judgment and honor to put the needs and desires of this Country First.
I believe it is his intent to align the Country with his goals rather than align his goals with this Country. I believe his record speaks louder than his words.
In response to a letter I received on a blog posting of mine: "The thought that McCain is REALLY about changing what Washington has become is laughable. He was forced into that posture because of the embarrassment that GW has become for the Republicans and any hope of getting elected has to appear to be a condemnation of the status quo."
First off Keith, I think McCain was bucking the system long before Bush was President. So I don't think he was forced anywhere.
Second, don't confuse the fact that McCain is the Republican Candidate with any conservative actually feeling good about McCain being the Republican Candidate.
He's not my guy, he's just not Obama just as I believe the bulk of the voters think Obama is not their guy, but he's just not Bush.
Finally, and really hear this... This election has little or nothing to do with either candidates abilities to be great leaders, it has to do with their appointments. That is, the people that will make the in the trench decisions that really rule this Country for the next four years that are NOT in elected positions.
Supreme Court Judges, Cabinet Positions, Secretary of the Treasury, and so on...
